Chemical Basis

Special solvent mixture based on modified bio-based solvents ≤ 40%, as well as modified organic solvents with an interfacially active polymer mixture.

Characteristics

CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green changes the surface tension. Due to its polymer content, it also has a defoaming effect in most solvent-based systems. CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green prevents the incorporation of air bubbles during the manufacturing and processing process. Air bubbles burst again quickly before characteristic surface defects occur. During the stoving of coil coatings, even very small amounts of CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green prevent boiling and bubbles. The flow is positively influenced.

The ingredients used in CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green are listed in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).

Processing

The usual application rate is 0.5 - 1.0 %, based on the total system. The addition should be made at the start of production. Subsequent addition is possible, but CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green must be worked in intensively.

Use during the production process

Use during the production process: CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green is optimally added to the dispersing / grinding mixture, i.e. when the binders and liquids for the dispersing / grinding mixture have been added, CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green is added while stirring. The powder components are then added and dispersed / ground. Afterwards, the mixture is finished with the remaining components of the formulation. After completion, the mixture should rest (mature) for 24 hours so that the full effectiveness of CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green can develop.

Use as a post-additive for subsequent incorporation

If CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green is to be used as a post-additive, CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green is added to the finished mixture while stirring and then worked in for 10 minutes at 18 - 22 m/sec. After completion, the mixture should rest (mature) for 24 hours so that the full effectiveness of CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green can develop.

Storage recommendation

Stir well before use. Store containers in a cool, well-ventilated place. Occasionally traces of water may be present, but this has no effect on the effectiveness of the product or its quality. To maintain the product quality, the original container should be resealed immediately after each use. The described properties of CONTRA-AIR Poly® Green remain intact for at least 2 years if stored properly.
